Welcome to Blue Shed Restaurant

Blue Shed restaurant is a family owned business specialising in seafood. Situated in the seaside town of St Helens just minutes from the world famous Bay of Fires region on Tasmania’s east coast.

Blue Shed evolved from a humble beginning as a small fish punt on the St Helens foreshore known as Captains Catch. The owners Rod and Irena Faulkner embarked on a complete rebuild of the fish punt transforming it into the iconic structure it is today. Locals referred to it as the Blue Shed. Rod and Irena decided that the name suited the building perfectly.

The Blueshed is one of the only restaurants on the east coast licenced to collect scale fish, southern rock lobster and oysters from local fishermen and retail to the public.

blue-shed-2With a history stretching back over 15 years it was important to Rod and Irena that the Captains Catch name be retained in the adjoining building .Captains Catch specialises in fresh fish, oysters, live and cooked southern rock lobster, and its renowned fish and chips. Captains Catch also sells and promotes Tasmanian wines, and gourmet produce.
